Travel in Marrakech

Visiting Marrakech is a magic combination of colour, beautiful objects and small streets filled with warm people and treasure hunting. I traveled with my friends and collaborators Lucy and Guy of Workhouse Collective and together we discovered an incredible city full of inspiration and delight.

We began our trip at the calming and minimalist Riad Dar-k and through our stay visited the various souks, shops and museums before settling continuing onto the Berber Lodge for the rest of our stay.

A few favorites from Marrakech below so far but so many more to still explore on the next visit!

The dyers souk of the medina in Marrakech shows wool that is collected and ready to be dyed using wonderful pigments from natural vegetable and mineral dyes such as woad, indigo, saffron, cochineal and sandalwood.

The dying process has not changed very much since its historic beginnings and is largely manual and organic; which is to this day the most effective and gentle way to treat the textiles.
