Veerle

“Hello, my name is Veerle Leblanc. I am 20 years old, and I am from the Netherlands. I started as an intern at Jessica Bataille The Lifestyle Company. The internship lasted for 4,5 months, but after the 1st month of my training, I decided to stay longer at the company because I love the Mediterranean style, the work vibe and all the colleagues who are super talented, creative and passionate about the work they do. I wanted to work and learn more in the creative field as an interior designer.

After my internship, I started working as an Ignite in the company. I worked with a team of young people, all around the same age, with different backgrounds, lots of positive energy and creative ideas. After a while, I started working in the creative department with all the interior designers and architects, and I got the title of Junior Interior Designer. Every day I learn new things, and I get super excited seeing the process and results of all the different projects the company creates by working together as a strong, passionate and talented team. I can't wait to learn more from my colleagues and, of course, from Jessica Bataille herself and to be able to create and design more beautiful projects at the Jessica Bataille The Lifestyle Company!”

 
 

Femy

“I am Femy Bruinsma (19 years old from the Netherlands). I started my three months internship in November. I love being here; Jessica Bataille is a fantastic company to work at. I saw a lot and learned a lot about the team and mindset of the company. It is inspiring how all those people are working together to make the company a big success.

I have been working on the marketing team but also on the creative team. I saw some different kinds of houses; It was inspiring to see the process of the places. The Mediterranean lifestyle is something I like. Jessica is passionate about her work. I fell in love with the Mediterranean lifestyle when she started talking about her work. Seeing the company inside and working here was a lot of fun.

The people at the company are friendly; they want to help you with everything. It makes working here so fun. I also love being in Javea. It is a beautiful town, and I like the mix of the beaches and the villages. I love the Spanish culture, too, and I loved living here in Spain. Being here is an experience for a lifetime.”

Daphne

“I’m Daphne (21, from the Netherlands); I started my internship at Jessica Bataille in November 2022 with Femy. I’ve found it very educational to work in such a big company; it’s exciting to see how everyone finds their place and helps each other where they can.

They’re working together on a collective goal and vision; to create Mediterranean houses and lifestyles. I have been working primarily on the marketing team; I got to make brochures, cards and illustrations and such. In doing so, I’ve learned a lot about Adobe programs and working with colleagues. I loved doing this; working with colleagues to deliver a product makes you learn a lot about your work and makes you driven to perfect the details until everyone is satisfied. I loved this process of perfecting each other and our work. Everyone on the team is accommodating and kind; they’re willing to guide you in your tasks and teach you everything you want to know.

I could also visit some houses and events, sometimes with Jessica herself. Once you see her walking through a home and talking about it with passion, you can see the love and affection she has for what she does. It’s been a fantastic experience working with her and her team.”

 
 

Gabriel

“Hi! My name is Gabriel, I'm 21 years old, and I've been a part of Jessica Bataille The Lifestyle Company since May 2022. My experience here has been very fulfilling as before coming to Jávea, I had just finished a 34-day pilgrimage following the Way of Saint James (Camino de Santiago). I was looking for exciting, new experiences. I got to discover Jávea through the company’s lens, which allowed me to learn more about the Mediterranean way of life and get to know Jávea and its culture on a deeper level. I was given the excellent opportunity to learn from different departments and get an overview of the company’s inner workings. I also got the chance to work with other people my age which made the experience all the more enjoyable. I’m very passionate about cultures and people, and working here, meeting and learning from so many exciting individuals has made me travel without ever leaving Jávea. This company embodies beautiful values, and I’m happy to be a part of this effort to preserve the Mediterranean lifestyle.”

Lotte

“Hello, my name is Lotte (18, from the Netherlands). I started my 5-month internship at Jessica Bataille The Lifestyle Company in August 2022. I study spatial design/styling in the Netherlands. Jessica Bataille is a Mediterranean interior company. During my internship, I mostly worked with the magic manager. She took me to houses and told me about how the company works and her job as a stylist. Magic and styling are all about the details and the finishing touch. The people who work at the company are very kind, creative and inspiring. I went to Spain on my own, which was a fantastic experience; Jávea is beautiful, and I love the Spanish culture.”

“Hi! My name is Stella (21 years old). I am half-Swedish and half-American and have lived in Javea for almost 12 years. So I have been part of the Jessica Bataille universe for nearly a year. Javea has always been a magical place to me but living here whilst being part of this company has made it even more special. My experience as the magic manager/Ignite has been a rollercoaster of positive emotions, and I am eternally grateful for this experience. I learn new things daily and am honoured to be surrounded by many inspiring people. We are a creative, passionate, hardworking team who, among other things, all work together to create and maintain the magic of this town. I thank all my colleagues for their patience, dedication and positive attitude but especially Jessica Bataille for letting me be part of her journey and vision.”

“When I think about y internship at Jessica Bataille and my time in Spain, I immediately get happy… From the very beginning I noticed how experienced and close-knit the team is. Despite the language barrier, I really felt included - the projects they work on are amazing! My time was super inspiring and educational. Everyone works hard and Jessica’s style is so unique and relatable. I was allowed to choose where I wanted to help to learn. I had a lot of freedom and got out a lot. “I remember my internship period at Jessica Bataille with a lot of pleasure. I am very grateful to Jessica and the team for this experience, I still think about it often and I love to see all the pictures of that period. Jessica has a great and wonderful team of people around her, all excellent at what they do. I learnt a lot from them about the different tasks within the company. The interior style appealed to me enormously and the days were never boring, the combination of office days and days on location made it a beautiful period.
